Soja Boi, the Nigeria Army Boxing Champion will storm the National Stadium, Lagos, Nigeria from this camp in Northern Nigeria this February 2017 to vie for a spot in the National team that will be representing Nigeria at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Nassau, Bahamas. Soja Boi, who won the Governor’s Boxing Belt in December 26th, 2016 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, is coming back to the ring to participate in the National Boxing Championship for men and women organized by the Nigeria Boxing Federation.
The 6-day boxing tournament billed to start on February 20 will end on February 26th 2017. The boxing tournament will host all the best boxers from around Nigeria in a showdown to select the best of the best. According to Tony Konyegwachi, head coach, Nigeria boxing team, "The essence of the championship is to discover new boxers from all over the country, and boxers from clubs, military, paramilitary are going to take part,"

Male Boxers from 10 different weight categories willing be competing while female boxers from only three weight categories will participate in the selection-championship. Winners in the competition will represent Nigeria at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games in June, and also at the World Championships in August, 2017. The boxers are expected to arrive at the camp from February 19, 2017.
According to www.en.wikipedia.org, the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games is the sixth edition of the Game, which started in 2000. The 2017 edition will feature 9 sports, with additional 3 new games; Beach Soccer, Judo and Beach Volleyball while Archery, Lawn Bowls, Weightlifting, and Squash were dropped in this edition. The games in this edition include Boxing, Aquatics, Athletics, Beach Soccer, Beach Volleyball, Cycling, Judo, Rugby sevens, and Tennis.

Rilwan lawal aka Soja Boi, who will be competing in the Lightweight category told Commune Magazine in a chat from his training camp, he revealed that he is good to go and bring back the Gold in his category because Nigeria had never won gold in that category. “I am good to go because nobody has won gold for Nigeria in my weight for the past few years, and if I am privilege to represent Nigeria. No doubt about it, I am winning the gold for Nigeria”.
