Opinion: My choicest prosperous 2017

My Choicest Place
Already, most people will have keyed into the traditional flow of setting agenda for 2017. It is a tradition, an euphoria of acknowledging the approaching new calendar for time is continuum like a flow of stream water. Nothing new, nothing changed. But, the lord has taught man to mark his days on earth and calendar is the best measure or counting the days.

However, year in, year out; we make personal resolutions, plans and goals. Some of these plans or goals are reoccurring for the umpteen times in a life time. It must be understood that whether there is a resolution, plan or not, life is flowing water that will carried along everything and anything. The essence of all the planning is to be able to be in control, determined and choose a “choicest” destination.

2016 whether you are aware or not have not only influence, it has also change you. If you notice, it is better that means you are in control. If you don’t know how this year has affected you as a person, then you need to pay more attention to your life - and then rewired. Unlike the usually write up that tell you what to do, I can bet you know what to do. You have not just come around to do them.

Remember, you need to constantly check where you want your life to go, your “choicest” landing place. Why you are not there now or heading towards it is because you don’t check your compass - your plan. You have not being guided by your plan; you have taken random actions that lead everywhere. Everywhere is nowhere. So, re-evaluate your 2016 plan, goal or resolution. If they are still what you want and they are not outdated, then make them your 2017 plan. Check them regularly, make sure every action taken leads to your plan for choicest prosperous 2017.

But there is depression; it is not my plan to debate that with you. There was once a storm on the high sea; good sailors ride the storm to their “choicest”and chosen destination. If you are buying a Derica or a kg of rice, why allow the price of a bag of rice give you sleepless night, after all you will only be paying a fraction of the added cost.

A bag of rice sold for between #9000 & #12000 in 2015, a Derica goes for between ₦150 - ₦200. Fast forward to December 2015, a bag of rice sells for between ₦18,000 & ₦22,000, a clear difference of additional ₦9000 to ₦10,000. Are you paying the additional ₦10,000 on a bag of rice? If not stop magnifying your challenges especially in a situation you cannot control. You become a very poor manager, when you magnify challenges you have no power over. Let me go before pessimists and wailers start telling me about reduced purchasing power, bad government policies and whatnot. Yet all these have been factor in and carefully considered before arriving at this conclusion.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance, I see you when you get there
