The LBHF is a monthly Boxing match conceived in 2009 to revive and nurture the growth of amateur boxing in Lagos State. According to the organiser's website, the Lagos State Government have given LBHF a mandate to help revive boxing. Representatives from about 10 local government areas are expected to participate in the 61st edition of the LBHF sponsored by GOTV, where winners will receive Cash, trophy and boxing gears.
Kaybee told CM that he has
been preparing for his returned match for about five months with discipline and
will not disappoint his fans and community. This last fight was in 2007. At the
height of his amateur boxing career, he won a gold medal for Edo State and silver
for Lagos State. The 81kg boxer will be fighting in the light -heavy weight
category. We gathered that Kaybee is already negotiating to also fight for
other amateur boxing titles in the light heavy category in the nearest
future.
In preparing for his returned
match, Kaybee seek refuge in Always Boxing Club, ABC of Bariga. A club
dedicated to development of grassroots boxing. About six boxers from the club
contested in the Army Sport trial in 2015 and won a place for themselves in the
Nigerian Army as sports men and women. The head coach of ABC, Tajudeen Adekunle
AKA Always said the club is in forefront of consist promotion amateur boxing in
and around Bariga community. He said in spite of the uncertainty occasioned by
the ban on the use of public school for events, "we will hold this year's
edition of our annual amateur Boxing Day as scheduled for February 28,
2016." He went further, "This year edition will features boxers from
